TERRAH BENNET SMITH

Terrah Bennett Smith has enjoyed a rich and multi-faceted career in the entertainment industry having worked as a director, producer, actress, singer/songwriter and screenwriter. Most recently, Bennett directed the independent feature film FLIP THE SCRIPT, starring Robin Givens and Miguel Nunez. The film was selected as a featured film at the Black Filmmakers/BMW 2005 filmmaker series. Bennett is currently at work on a screenplay for the romantic feature comedy, MY PERFECT LIFE..., which she will direct later this year. She is also scheduled to direct the Feature Films, BREATHE and CHRISTMAS HAS BEEN CANCELLED. Bennett has directed two pilot presentations, a comedy documentary and several music videos. Bennett has directed over fifteen stage productions including such stage productions as the critically lauded musical DICK AND DON’S FABULOUS 60’S ROCK AND SOUL SPECTACULAR and the riveting musical. THIS IS MY STORY, THIS IS MY SONG, a semi-autobiographical musical based on the life of recording artist Brenda Lee Eager. Terrah recently completed producing another feature film entitled, CONTRADICTIONS OF THE HEART, which starred, Vanessa Williams, Lisa Raye, Clifton Powell and Michael De Lorenzo. Terrah has also just completed directing, Celebrities Against AIDS a PSA for the fight against AIDS. She is the of Bennett Five Entertainment, Inc. - Production Company. Bennett is also Co-Manager of the teen-pop/Urban recording group “MIsha Rose”.
Born and raised in New York City, Bennett has a long list of Broadway, Off Broadway, theatre credits. A few of Bennett’s acting credits include the Broadway production of RUNAWAYS as well as the Los Angeles premiere of SIGNATURE, by Pulitzer Prize winning writer Beth Henley. A few of her television acting credits include starring roles in pilots for Fox Televisions ALL ABOUT YOU, HBO’s DEADWOOD MYSTERIES and guest starring roles on JUDGING AMY, THE SHIELD and a recurring role on GENERAL HOSPITAL. She has done over two dozen commercials.
Bennett is also an accomplished singer/songwriter having toured the world early in her career as one of three singers in the girl’s pop group ALTITUDE for RCA records. Also an ASCAP songwriter, one of Bennett’s songs was most recently featured on Showtime Television’s movie BARHOP.
