OPENS ITS DOORS TO NEW STUDENTS
Your child is invited to be a part of an extraordinary arts program where students grow, learn valuable tools, and let their inner light shine all while having fun. Middle and high school students, ages 12-19, will embark on an unforgettable empowering experience.
The goal is to make sure that each student embarks on an unforgettable empowering experience! Students acquire the tools needed to realize their strengths and talents while carefully guiding them through a “real theater and film experience” to help them achieve total self-confidence.
Under the guidance of Television, Feature Film and Broadway Instructors, students participate in technique classes in acting, dance and voice, preparing them for each up-coming theatre or short film production.
Each session’s theme will vary, from an adaptation of a television or theatre classic like, Casablanca, or A Raisin In The Sun, to Broadway Musicals like, West Side Story and Chorus Line. Empower Youth’s short film session will feature the writings of selected students and performed by the Empower Youth Theatre & Film Company. Short films that qualify will be entered into Film Festivals.
Empower Youth takes a proactive stance using drama, music, dance, directing, art/set designing, scriptwriting, wardrobe, lighting, audio/video, and marketing as a means of giving each student a broader understanding of the entertainment industry, while building self awareness and self confidence.
We combine learning and fun, creating a safe platform for students to express their inner thoughts and feelings. We guide students to develop the life skills needed to take those same thoughts and feelings and turn them into words and actions that empower. Through various exercises and scripts, students are able to see the cause and affect of their thoughts and feelings and how these same thoughts and feelings can be used to empower their lives.
